‘U’ Student Crowned New Miss Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Minnesota has a new reigning beauty after the new Miss Minnesota was crowned over the weekend.

University of Minnesota student Siri Freeh took home the crown.

Freeh is studying nursing and says she intends to eventually earn a doctorate in cardiovascular research.

She competed against 21 other women.

The pageant was the official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant. Freeh will compete for the Miss America crown next January in Las Vegas.

The previous Miss Minnesota winner was Natalie Davis from Dassel, Minn.
