Buses To Replace Downtown Mpls. Light-Rail This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The downtown portion of the Hiawatha light-rail line will be shut down starting at 6:30 p.m. Friday, according to Metro Transit.

Until the light-rail service reopens at 3:30 a.m. Monday, Route 55 buses will substitute for the trains between Target Field Station and the Franklin Avenue Station.

Light-rail trains will operate normally elsewhere along the 12-mile line.

This weekend looks to be a busy one with the Twin Cities Pride Festival on Saturday and Sunday, so downtown commuters should plan accordingly. For more information on the light-rail shutdown, click here.
