Police: Possible Sexual Assault In Maple Grove

MAPLE GROVE (WCCO) -- Maple Grove Police are asking for the public's help after a possible criminal sexual conduct incident on a popular walking path.

On Thursday morning at 9:48 a.m., police received a call of the incident near the 9100 block of Upland Lane North on or near the walking path, south of that location. Officers responded and talked with the victim.

Police say she had injuries consistent with what she reported. She did not go to the hospital.

It is a popular trail, so police think someone may have seen the attacker, who is described as a white male, 5-foot-6 to 6-feet-tall, late teens to early 20s with sandy blonde crew cut hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a crew neck fitted black T-shirt and blue jeans. He arrived on foot carrying a camouflage backpack and a black metal box. He fled the scene by traveling north on the path.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hennepin County Dispatch at 763-494-6172.
