CLOQUET, Minn. (WCCO) - A center to help coordinate volunteers and donations to help flood victims in Carlton County is open for business. It is located in the Cloquet National Guard Armory.
Jill Hatfield is director of volunteer services in Carlton County.
NewsRadio 830 WCCO’s Susie Jones Reports
“What has happened is we are seeing more people stopping in here for help, than people calling in. There are people without food, or housing right now, they don’t have money to get a hotel room. There are just a lot of issues like that,” said Hatfield.
The goal of the center is to act as a clearinghouse for all kinds of volunteers and donations.
Hatfield says they need all kinds of volunteers with a variety of skills, and especially need assistance with both indoors with phones, and outdoors for those who can help clear debris and lift heavy items.
If you can help, you are asked to call (218) 384-1112.
