Augustus Nominated As 'Best WNBA Player' In ESPYs

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Think Seimone Augustus is the top player in the WNBA?

She's been nominated as one of the best in the league and fans can vote for the Lynx's star guard to be crowned the queen for the 2012 ESPYs at ESPN.com.

Voting ends on July 9 as the ESPYs will air at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11.

Augustus led the Lynx to the franchise's first WNBA title last season, averaging 24.7 points per game during the Finals en route to being the 2011 Finals MVP.

She averaged 16.2 points during the regular season and was just the third player in WNBA history to finish a season shooting better than 50 percent from the field, more than 40 percent from behind the arc and better than 85 percent from the free-throw line.
