MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Firefighters battled a large fire at a south Minneapolis business Friday night before containing it at 10:53 p.m.
Crews knocked down flames at Smith Foundry, located near East 28th Street and Longfellow Avenue South.
Dispatch officers said calls about the fire came in shortly after 9 p.m. and no civilian injuries were reported. The Red Cross was called to the scene to provide assistance to employees and firefighters.
Authorities said there have been several explosions at the foundry.
There has been no word on what caused the fire.
