FOREST LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) – A man is missing after his pontoon boat and dog were found on Forest Lake on Monday.

According to the Forest Lake Police Department, police were notified around 3:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon after someone found a dog swimming alone and an unoccupied pontoon boat near the 6800 block of North Shore Trail on the shoreline. The boat was adrift for an unknown amount of time.

The boater’s significant other was notified, and the Washington County Sheriff’s Water Patrol began a search of the water. Officers also requested the MN State Patrol Aircraft for an air search, and the Forest Lake Fire Department for help in the water search.

The missing person’s name will not be identified until the entire family is notified. If you have any questions regarding the case, contact Captain Greg Weiss of the Forest Lake Police Department at (612)325-6421.
