Officers Involved In Tuesday's Domestic Shooting ID'd

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The two officers involved in a domestic dispute shooting Tuesday in St. Paul that left a suspect with non-life threatening injuries were identified Wednesday afternoon.

Joseph Higgins is a seven-year veteran of the St. Paul Police Department, and Ramar Davis is a five-year veteran.

The incident happened at about 4 a.m. on the 200 block of Aurora Avenue. Responding to a report of a domestic disturbance, police learned that the suspect was running out the back door of the residence.

After tracking down the suspect and repeatedly telling him to show his hands and get on the ground, the man did not comply, police said.

Authorities then shot 47-year-old Kevin Lloyd Carroll.

Higgins and Davis remain on three-day administrative leave per department policy.
