Task Force Finds Drugs, Firearms In St. Cloud House

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A task force made up of officers from multiple agencies arrested a man Thursday after finding firearms, controlled substances and proceeds from the sale of controlled substances in a St. Cloud house.

The Central Minnesota Violent Offenders Task Force conducted a search warrant at a home on the 1100 block of 13th Street South, according to St. Cloud officials. The warrant was based on many tips and complaints that drugs were being sold there.

While searching the house, officers found controlled substances, proceeds from the sale of those substances, a .40 caliber handgun, which turned out to be stolen, and two adults, who were monitoring a police scanner set to the frequency of St. Cloud police.

Police arrested 42-year-old Russell Lee Moncure. He is currently in the Stearns County Jail pending possible firearm and drug possession charges. Officials said Moncure is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a gun.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tomasenia Jeanette Thigpen, two small children and a family friend were also at home at the time of the search. Thigpen was not arrested but may face possible controlled substance charges.
