17-Year-Old Pinned In St. Cloud Crash Dies

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 17-year-old Clear Lake teen who was pinned in a head-on collision in St. Cloud has died of his injuries, according to police.

The St. Cloud Police Department says the car crash occurred at approximately 5:52 p.m. on the 2600 block of 3rd Street North.

The 17-year-old male, identified as Joseph Matthew Kuntz, was heading eastbound in a pickup truck when he collided with 26-year-old Amanda Colette Binkley, who was traveling westbound.

When officers arrived on the scene, the teen was pinned underneath the passenger side of his truck. Emergency crews freed him from the wreckage, and transported him to the St. Cloud Hospital with potentially life threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.

Binkley, a Royalton resident, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
