MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Motorists will encounter plenty of headaches this weekend as we’re in the heart of summer road construction season.
There are several highway closures this weekend, and the two biggest will be in the west metro.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 62 will be closed between Highway 169 and Interstate 35W from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for resurfacing.
The northbound lanes of Interstate 494 will also be closed between Interstate 394 in Minnetonka and County Road 6 in Plymouth from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for resurfacing. Motorists are encouraged to use Highway 169 as a detour.
Both directions of Interstate 35E will be closed at the Maryland Avenue Bridge in St. Paul starting at 9 p.m. Friday. All lanes are expected to be back open by 5 a.m. Monday.
