Owatonna Drowning Victim Identified

OWATONNA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A man who died after drowning in Lake Kohlmier has been identified, according to the Steele County Sheriff's Office.

Nineteen-year-old Diego Ortiz Larios, of Faribault, died after swimming in Lake Kohlmier on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to report of a missing swimmer just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Larios' body was located at the bottom of the lake near the dock.

Authorities said his death appeared to have been accidental. The Steele County Sheriff's Office was assisted in their investigation by the Steele County Coroner's Office.
