Aquatennial Torchlight Parade Is Tonight In Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We're midway through "The Best Days of Summer." That's the slogan of the Minneapolis Aquatennial.

Downtown Minneapolis will be a busy spot Wednesday night as the annual Torchlight Parade, sponsord by Centerpoint Energy, will take place on Hennepin Avenue.

It's one of the biggest parades annually in the Twin Cities, and it'll get started at about 8:30 p.m. The route starts at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Dunwoody and goes all the way down to 5th Street.

People who are going to the parade should plan on getting there early. The Minnesota Twins are in town hosting the Baltimore Orioles, making for a busy night downtown.

WCCO-TV will also be well-represented in the parade as anchors Frank Vascellaro and Amelia Santaniello are this year's grand marshals.
