Investigators say shortly before 10 p.m. on Jan. 21, officers responded to a report of shots fired near 36th Street East and Clinton Avenue South.

When officers arrived, Rogers was found inside a vehicle with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead, which was determined to be the result of a homicide by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
