NORTHFIELD, Minn. (WCCO) -– A 48-year-old Northfield, Minn., woman was hit and killed by a car while she walked her two dogs in rural Rice County Thursday, police say.
According to the Rice County Sheriff’s Department, Kimberly Motzko was hit around 8 a.m. on the 2000 block of 80th Street West in Webster Township, outside of Northfield, by Michael Moreland, 56. Samuel Moreland, 10, was also in the car. Both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Motzko was airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis where she was pronounced dead.
The cause of the crash is under investigation and is being assisted by the Minnesota State Patrol.
