MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s the last weekend of July, and that means it’s time to get your plans in order for the best summer fun the Twin Cities have to offer.
Natalie Kane has a few suggestions for events you should add to your social calendar if you’re looking for something fun to do.
Taste Of The Twin Cities Originals
On Thursday night, you can explore all that Minnesota restaurants have to offer at the Taste of the Twin Cities Originals at TCF Bank Stadium. The local tradition celebrates the gastronomic identity of the Twin Cities with new dishes and samplings from 21 of the best local and independent area restaurants. The event also features an assorted drink roster that includes locally brewed craft beer tastings. Admission is priced at $50.
Tour De Fat
This Saturday, Tour de Fat returns to Loring Park for a day honoring cycling. This costumed bicycle parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and the entertainment carries into the afternoon with live music. This is a free event.
Heroes Parade
Also on Saturday, veterans, active military members and their families will be honored with a parade in downtown Minneapolis. The Twin Cities Heroes Parade follows Nicollet Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a flyover of 3 vintage T6 war planes, and the 35W Bridge will be lit in red, white and blue.
