SAVAGE, Minn. (WCCO) - Savage Police are disputing a story widely reported throughout social media outlets involving a pit bull that was taken from its fenced-in yard, tortured and left for dead on Wednesday.
The pit bull, named Caesar, was found bleeding and limping by its owners in their driveway. Although the investigation is still ongoing, the Savage Police Department believe that Cesar and another dog were not abducted, but instead had somehow escaped their fenced enclosure.
Witnesses had reported seeing both dogs wandering the neighborhood uninjured. However, Caesar was eventually hurt, but with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Police are still puzzled, however, by the fact that Caesar appeared to have words “Back Off Bob” written on his body.
If you have any information about this case, please contact the Savage Police Department.
