SAVAGE, Minn. (WCCO) – The owner of an injured pit bull in Savage says we may never know how was hurt.

The dog’s owner says someone intentionally tried to hurt his dog, Caesar. Two days ago he found the dog with cuts to his legs and a message scribbled on his back that read, “Back off Bob.”

Savage Police believe Caesar got out of the fence and was hit by a car. But, after learning of the dog’s injuries and the two different stories, Midwest Animal Rescue looked into what happened.

On Saturday night, Caesar’s vets say his injuries don’t appear to have been caused by a car.

Savage Police say there are still actively investigating what happened to the dog.

They’re offering a $1 thousand reward for information.
