WARBA, Minn. (WCCO) — A 68-year-old man is dead after an apparent drowning on Sand Lake.

The Itasca County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a missing person around 3:10 p.m. on Sunday on Sand Lake, near Warba.

Authorities say Hal William Leasure, of Warba, was later found floating face down in the water, approximately 50 feet from the end of a dock. His lawn mower was found near the lake and his work gloves were also floating in the water.

Leasure was pulled to shore by bystanders.
