Police Searching For Missing MN Man In Arizona

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in Arizona are looking for a 27-year-old man from Minnesota who has not been seen since Saturday.

Family members told authorities that Shaun Rentz was last seen in Minnesota at about 6 p.m. Saturday. He was supposed to meet friends Saturday night and never showed up at a designated meeting location. Authorities say he was supposed to go to a new job on Monday morning and did not show up or call.

Police said it appears he hasn't contacted anyone recently and that his cell phone has been turned off. That prompted the family to file a missing person's report with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities said a vehicle they believe belonging to Rentz, a 2004 black Audi sedan, was parked in the lot of the Oak Creek Park Canyon Scenic Overview on Monday, which is between Sedona and Flagstaff, Ariz. Police initially put a sticker on the car that it couldn't be parked there overnight, but it was still there Tuesday morning.

Rentz' mother, Karen, said on Thursday afternoon that she didn't have time to talk because they were preparing to leave to Sedona, Ariz. to help searchers.

Rentz is described as a 6 foot, 4 inch male weighing about 215 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about where he could be or what might have happened to him is asked to call Coconino County Sheriff's Office at (928) 774-4523.
