Twins, Toro Team Up To Build Baseball Fields

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Twins and Toro teamed up on Tuesday to rebuild a neighborhood park.

Bryant Square Park in south Minneapolis now has two baseball fields that are all new and it's all thanks to the work of volunteers.

It's something the two "teams" have done together, getting down on their hands and knees in the infield dirt, to build ballparks over the past three years.

"At the end of the day, you can see what's happened, you've got an end result," said Tom Larson, Toro vice president.

In addition to all the labor, helping provide better neighborhoods for local children, Toro and the Twins each donated $10,000 to rebuild the Bryant Park fields.

Says Julie Okland: "It's to better the neighborhoods for a lot of kids."
