Klobuchar, Bills Share Stage For 1st Time At Ag Forum

REDWOOD FALLS, Minn. (AP) -- U.S. Senate candidates Amy Klobuchar and Kurt Bills will appear together publicly for the first time as opponents when they participate in an agricultural and rural issues forum at FarmFest.

The agriculture industry trade show near Redwood Falls has become a required stop for Minnesota candidates every election year. Democrat Klobuchar and Republican Bills will participate Tuesday morning in a 90-minute forum. Glen Menze of the Independence Party is also scheduled to participate.

The forum will be a big test for Bills, who is seriously lacking in campaign dollars and needs to make an impression against the popular and well-funded Klobuchar. Bills called earlier this week for 20 town hall meetings with him and Klobuchar between now and Election Day, but so far only one other debate is scheduled.
