Man Dies After Thrown From Motorcycle, Hit By Semi

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man is dead after being thrown from his motorcycle and hit by semi truck in Waite Park, according to police.

Officers were dispatched around 1:25 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of 28th Avenue and 2nd Street South for a traffic/fatality crash. The driver of the car, 31-year-old Erick Bardeaux, of Sartell, was driving east on 2nd Street South, when he failed to stop for a stop sign, according to police.

As he went through the intersection, Bardeaux hit a motorcycle being driven by 52-year-old Paul Hiltner, of Richmond. Hiltner was thrown from the bike into the path of a semi tractor, traveling north on 28th Avenue.

Hiltner was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.

Police say the intersection is currently closed while the State Patrol reconstructs the scene. The crash is under investigation. Charges could be possible in the incident.
