MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police say one person is dead and a suspect is still at large after a shooting early Friday morning on the north side of Minneapolis.

Authorities responded to a report of a shooting just before 2:30 a.m. on the 3100 block of Dupont Avenue North. When authorities arrived, they found one person inside a home who had been shot. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police brought K-9 units to the scene to search for suspects and also took several people into custody for questioning about the incident, but no arrests have been made. Authorities said it doesn’t appear the public is at risk at this time. Police also said the shooting does not appear to be random.

It’s the 18th murder of the year in the city of Minneapolis. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
