MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – In just a few days, Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis will close for a herd of heels.

Women and men will slide into stilettos, take their mark, and dash 25 yards in high heels.

The Aegis Foundation puts on the annual High Heel Dash to raise money for youth organizations.

“Because we are all volunteers, we give 100 percent back,” said William Panzarella, founder of the Aegis Foundation.

The Aegis Foundation High Heel Dash takes place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14.

It costs $20 to register, and registrants are encouraged to raise $250 or more.
