Mall Of America Ramp Reopens After Fatal Crash

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Mall of America parking ramp that was damaged after a fatal crash on Aug. 3 is now reopened to the public.

Repairs began last week on the ramp, closing about 50 parking spaces. All repairs were completed Saturday.

Raheem Waheed, 52, was killed and two others were hurt after part of a structure beam fell on their U-Haul truck. Police said the U-Haul truck hit the beam, causing it to fall.

A 45-year-old woman and her 12-year-old daughter were able to escape the crash with non-life threatening injuries.
