MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 21-year-old woman from Ramsey died on Aug. 5 after a medical problem caused her to go into the water of a western Wisconsin lake, authorities said Monday.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a medical problem on Big Blake Lake on Aug. 5. When authorities arrived, the woman was operating a personal watercraft on the lake when she had a medical issue and fell into the lake.

Witnesses at the scene were able to get the woman out of the water and started CPR. She was taken to Amery Regional Medical Center and eventually Regions Hospital, where she died.

Authorities identified the victim as Lauren Blomlie. Her death is still under investigation by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office.
