Texas Man Killed In Crow Wing County Motorcycle Crash
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 67-year-old man was killed Saturday when the motorcycle he was riding hit a vehicle head-on in Fairfield Township, according to the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities responded to the accident at about 4:54 p.m. Saturday. When authorities arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation showed the motorcyclist, later identified as Bernie Nieters of Texas, was traveling westbound on County Road 36 when he failed to fully turn a corner and entered an oncoming lane of traffic.
Nieters was hit head-on by a car traveling eastbound. Authorities say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is being investigated by the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
