MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The search for a missing 19-year-old, possibly armed, man has been canceled Tuesday night due to the weather conditions.
A crime alert was issued after the teen, identified as Darren Chock, went missing near Tenstrike, Minn., approximately 17 miles north of Bemidji. Chock allegedly called 911 at 1:41 p.m. Tuesday indicating he was emotionally distressed.
A large-scale search in a wooded area ensued in an attempt to locate Shock but was called off at 9 p.m. The search resumed Wednesday morning but was canceled due to the weather.
Police say Chock’s cell phone battery is dead so they are unable to get any further updates on his location. They say he may be armed but does not have a vehicle.
Chock was last seen wearing flip flops, jeans or shorts and an unknown shirt.
If you see Chock, do not approach him, but instead call the Beltrami County Sheriff’s office at 218-333-9111.
