Fund Set Up To Help Family Of Man Waiting For Kidney

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Earlier this month WCCO-TV reported on a Coon Rapids father who suffers from a rare genetic disease and is in need of a kidney.

Bryan Weiss, 33, has Alport syndrome, a genetic disease (about 1 in 50,000 have it) that affects mostly men.

Weiss is on dialysis, waiting for a kidney transplant.

Due to his condition, Weiss has missed a lot of work and has not been able to support his family as he did when he was healthy.

As a result, the Bryan Weiss Benefit Account has been set up to help his family, Weiss' family said.

If you would like to help, you can make donations to any Village Bank, which has branches in Anoka County. You can also mail donations to the bank's Blaine branch, located at 9298 Central Ave. NE Blaine, Minn., 55434.

For more information on Weiss, see his Facebook page and WCCO's original story.
