MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning your weekend. There are plenty of events going on this weekend, even if you just want to fly a kite.
Greek Festival
Saturday and Sunday is “Greek Festival” at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in St. Paul. You can sample authentic Greek food, pastries and beverages.
There will be Greek music and dancing. Admission is free.
Scott County Historical Society Pub Crawl
Back by popular demand this Saturday is the Brewery History Pub Crawl in Scott County.
Hop on a bus to visit the places breweries once called home and enjoy specialty beer samples in pubs along the route. The trip includes stops in Shakopee, Jordan, Belle Plaine and New Prague.
Tickets are $30 each.
Flying Colors Kite Festival
Saturday is also the Minnesota Kite Society’s 25th Annual Flying Colors Kite Festival in Bloomington, where you can see kites flying high in the sky, make a kite and watch demonstrations.
Don’t have one? You can buy a kite and a snack on site.
It starts at 11 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. This is a great free, family friendly event.
Also, on a less entertaining but no less important note, Friday and Saturday is the free dental clinic in Mankato. Doors open at 5:30 a.m. both days and patients are seen until about 5 p.m.
