Mission Of Mercy Hosts Free Dental Care In Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) – The first two-day free dental clinic in Minnesota started up Friday morning in Mankato, and some people have been lined up since Wednesday night to capitalize on the offer.

The Mission Of Mercy got underway at the Verizon Wireless Center in Mankato, offering dental care to anyone who needs it. There's no cost and no catch. It's simply about showing up and promoting taking care of your teeth.

The clinic runs Friday and Saturday, and the doors open at 5:30 a.m. both days. Officials said about 1,000 patients will get treated each day and it's done on a first-come, first-serve basis until about 5 p.m.

The clinic is meant for the uninsured, under-insured and people who don't have regular access to health care. Patients do not need photo identification, their social security number or any other personal documentation. Children under the age of 18 only need to have an adult with them.
