MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Department of Veterans Affairs has approved an application process that might help veterans affected by flooding in Carlton County, department officials said.

In a release Monday, the officials said veterans who apply can be eligible for up to $750 to help cover the cost of flood damage cleanup.

To get an application, call the Carlton County Veterans Service Office at 218-499-6838. Only one application per veteran, officials said.

Officials also noted that applications and receipt copies must be dated between the disaster timeframe (June 13 – Sept. 30) as designated by Gov. Mark Dayton.
