Cops: Repairman Impersonator Robs Woman, 71, At Knifepoint

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 71-year-old woman was robbed at knifepoint in her apartment by a man impersonating a TV repairman, according to Minneapolis Police.

On Saturday at 6:45 p.m., police officers responded to a robbery of person on the 600 block of 18th Avenue North and met the victim. She told police the unknown man, 30 to 40 years of age, came to her apartment and stated he was there to fix her TV.

The victim told police she didn't find it suspicious because she had contacted Comcast about her TV not working properly and she had complained to several residents in the building about her TV troubles.

The man told the victim it would cost her $60 to fix her TV. When she refused to pay, the man pulled out a kitchen knife and grabbed the victim's wallet – removing $210. He then fled on foot, according to police.

The victim did not recognize the suspect, but gave officers a description. She was not injured.
