POLK COUNTY, Wis. (WCCO) — A 50-year-old man was killed after being ejected in a car crash in Polk County Tuesday, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
At 6:40 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle in the ditch on Round Lake Road, just south of Bone Lake Township.
An investigation found that Wendell Rogers, 50, of Luck, Wis. was southbound on Round Lake Road – 0.6 miles south of 250th Avenue – when he failed to negotiate a curve and lost control of his vehicle.
Rogers, who was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 coupe, entered the east ditch and overturned where Rogers was ejected from the vehicle. After Rogers was ejected, the Camaro continued on and crossed back over Round Lake Road before coming to a stop in the west ditch.
Rogers was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
