Fridley Police Officer Dies In Off-Duty Motorcycle Accident

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An officer of the Fridley Police Department was killed Tuesday in an off-duty motorcycle accident near his home in Plymouth.

Police say Officer Barry Pankonin died in the crash at approximately 3:30 p.m. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Officer Pankonin served as an officer and detective during his 12 and a half years at the Fridley Police Force and was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
