MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The man accused of killing his three young daughters in River Falls, Wis., is facing an additional charge.
Aaron Schaffhausen, 35, now faces an attempted arson charge.
That charge comes in addition to the three counts of first-degree intentional homicide he faces following the death of his daughters.
Eleven-year-old Amara, 9-year-old Sophie and 5-year-old Cecilia Schaffhausen were killed in their home on July 10.
Authorities said the smell of gas was coming from the basement and there was a tipped over gas container there
Aaron Schaffhausen and his wife divorced in January. He had been working as a construction worker in Minot, N.D.
Schaffhausen is scheduled to be in court next Tuesday.
