RAMSEY, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say one person is dead and another was hospitalized after a head-on crash in the north metro overnight.

The crash happened at about 11:39 p.m. Thursday on the 17800 block of County Road 7 in Ramsey. The Ramsey Police Department said two men were driving separate vehicles that collided head-on, killing one and injuring the other.

Police said the victim who died was a 32-year-old man, while a 47-year-old man was taken to the hospital. There has not been an update on that man’s condition.

Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the accident, including if alcohol or speed played a factor. The Ramsey Police Department is working with the Minnesota State Patrol and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. The names of the men have not yet been released.
