Police: Woman Attacked In Park, Twice, In St. Cloud

ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police are investigating after a woman reported being choked, twice, at a park in St. Cloud.

Police say the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at Calvary Park, 1800 17th Street South. Multiple residents reported hearing a woman screaming for help.

When officers arrived, they met with the victim, a 20-year-old from St. Cloud, who said a man driving a red, four-door Pontiac, approached her while she was walking on the road.

She said he was about 35-37 years old, medium height, about 230 pounds with dark hair and was last seen wearing a black shirt. She said the man came up to her, threw her on the ground and began choking her.

She said she was able to get away but the suspect caught up to her a second time and choked her again.

Residents in the area responded to the screams and the suspect fled the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the St. Cloud Police Department or CrimeStoppers.
