Last Day At State Fair Means Lots Of Deals

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- All good things have to come to an end, right? It's the last day of the State Fair, but that also means it's a great day to grab some deals.

Dozens of merchants are offering deals, some as much as 50 percent off. Avon has its beauty collection, which is normally $125, discounted to just $22.

There are also deals at Rock Gardens, Simonson's Jewelry, the Dog Perk and Usborne Books. The Dog Perk has portable pet water bottles for $4 (they're normally $8).

And food vendors have deals as well. Famous Daves, Ice Cream Parlour, San Felipe Tacos, and Ole and Lena's, where you can get hotdish on a stick for $4, instead of $5.50.

Monday is also Kids Day. Kids get in at a discounted rate of $7. You'll find all-day discounts on rides, games and concessions.

The weather is going to be nice again today if you're planning on heading down to the fair.

As far as attendance, the State Fair hasn't broken any records so far in 2012, but this past weekend had big crowds. Saturday's attendance was nearly 227,000 -- about 7,000 less than the record set back in 2010, but still far more than we've seen any other day this year.

Yesterday's numbers still haven't been released, but through Saturday, more than 1.4 million people have passed through the gates this year. That's up from the same point last year.
