COON RAPIDS, Minn. (WCCO) –- Authorities have confirmed that a body was found near the Coon Rapids Dam Tuesday night was the 31-year-old man who went missing on Aug. 25.
According to a release from the Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office, the body was positively identified as Alan Lyle Taylor.
On Wednesday, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said two passers-by found his body Tuesday night at about 6 p.m. near the Coon Rapids Dam on Mississippi River Boulevard near Uplander Street.
Authorities said there was no apparent evidence of trauma to the body when it was found.
Taylor’s disappearance had been described as “suspicious.”
The cause and manner of Taylor’s death have yet to be determined by the medical examiner. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating his death.
Taylor has been known to go fishing at the Three Rivers Park district near the Coon Rapids Dam. He had plans to begin school at Anoka Technical College and had made family plans for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
