ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say one woman has died after a house fire in St. Paul early Thursday morning.
Fire crews responded to a report of a house fire just before 3 a.m. on the 900 block of Carroll Avenue near Chatsworth. When authorities arrived, they were able to put the fire out quickly. While doing a search of the home for victims, they found a woman dead on the first floor of the home.
Authorities say it doesn’t appear the woman tried to escape from the fire. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire, including if the woman may have been smoking before the fire started. The woman’s age and identity have not yet been released.
