Mo. Homicide Suspect Turns Himself Into Mpls. Police

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Police Department says a homicide suspect from Missouri has turned himself into authorities.

The Minneapolis Police Department Homicide Unit was contacted on Thursday by the Ferguson, Mo., Police Department help find 29-year-old Darnell Xavier Vaughn.

Vaughn is wanted for murder and is a suspect in at least one other homicide in the St. Louis area, police say.

At about 4:30 a.m., police say Vaughn contacted 911 to turn himself in. Officers went to the area of 3rd Avenue South and 11th Street South to take him into custody, though police say earlier he made statements saying he would resist arrest.

Though police believed Vaughn would be armed, they found no gun on his person when he was arrested.

He has been booked into Hennepin County Jail and is being held without bond.
