WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a fire overnight caused significant damage to a home in the north Twin Cities metro.

Fire crews were called just before midnight to the 2400 block of Gisella Boulevard in White Bear Lake on a report of a house fire. When authorities got to the scene, the fire had started in the back of the home and wind cause it to spread quickly.

Authorities said a couple with two young children lives in the home. They were able to get out safely, but a family cat is still unaccounted for. Fire officials said the house is a total loss.

Authorities said a neighbor’s home also suffered damage to its siding on the west side of the house as a result of the blaze. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
