MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins released their 2013 schedule on Wednesday, and they’ll start the season April 1 at home against the Detroit Tigers.

It’s the first time since Target Field opened in 2010 that the Twins will open the season at home.

The Twins will also have a 20-game interleague schedule that starts with a visit by the New York Mets April 12-14. They’ll also host the Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies. The Twins will travel to the Atlanta Braves, Brewers, Washington Nationals and Marlins.

The Houston Astros are joining the American League next season, and the Twins will host them Aug. 2-4 and travel to Houston Sept. 2-4. The Twins also host the New York Yankees July 1-4.

Specific game times will be announced at a later date.
