MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning your weekend. Natalie Kane has a few suggestions that include getting outside for some free music and a bike ride, or staying inside and catching a pinball tournament.
This weekend, competitive pinball returns to the Twin Cities in a major way. The Pinnesota! National Pinball Championships are Friday through Sunday at Blainbrook Entertainment Center in Blaine.
Players, families and spectators are welcome to see some of the best players in the world compete for the title.
The prize package in worth more than $10,000.
On Sunday, hop on your bike for a tour of Minneapolis. Enjoy the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway System at your own pace.
Parkways and roadways along the 14- and 36-mile routes are closed to motorized traffic. Both routes include rest stops with refreshments and bike mechanics.
Stick around after the ride to enjoy live music, beer and food.
Also Sunday, for the first time in years there will be a free “thank you” concert for fans of the Minnesota Orchestra.
Musicians of the Orchestra will perform at the Lake Harriet Bandshell on Sunday at 4 p.m.
It’s their way to show their gratitude for your support of music and arts in the region.
