MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – “Batman Live” opened Thursday night at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The show is a live-action adaptation of the Batman comics and movies. And if you’ve been lucky enough to see it already, you know it is a big production.

Show organizers said there are about 500 individual costumes that actors jump in and out of throughout the show.

But the show isn’t just about dressing up. It’s about fighting crime, saving Gotham from menacing super villains.

For a primer on fighting crime, the “Batman Live” crew gave WCCO-TV’s Matt Brickman some super hero tips.

One: make sound effects – Wonk! Kayo! Uggh! – when throwing punches at, or pushing away, opponents.
