Wis. Police: Man Arrested After Fatal Hit-And-Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man is in jail after Wisconsin authorities arrested him in connection with the Wednesday hit-and-run death of an 84-year-old woman.

The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office said officers responded to a hit-and-run crash shortly after 3 p.m. near the 1300 block of CTH TT in Warren, Wis. Witnesses told officers that a Ford Taurus traveling west hit Lucille Hansen, of Roberts, Wis. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses also provided officers with a description of the car, which had a broken windshield and continued traveling west. Authorities found the car and its driver in Hudson, Wis., a short time later. They arrested the driver, who is currently in the St. Croix County Jail, pending formal charges.

The man's name has not been released. The hit-and-run, which is St. Croix County's eleventh fatality, is still under investigation.
