Cops: Motorcyclist Dies After Striking Deer

CT. CROIX COUNTY , Wis. (WCCO) – A 47-year-old New Richmond, Wis., motorcyclist has died from injuries suffered after hitting a deer on Thursday in Cylon, Wis., according to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say Richard J. Shade was on his 1981 Honda Gold Wing at about 7 p.m. on Thursday on CTH S, just east of 215th Street, when he appeared to strike a deer. Shade was ejected and airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul before dying on Friday.

Shade was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
