MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kevin Love is going to the Minnesota Lynx playoff opener on Friday night. He’s trying to make sure Target Center is full when he gets there.

Love has purchased 500 upper level tickets for Game 1 against Seattle. He’s giving them away to Lynx on Tuesday.

The first 250 fans to call in to the Lynx ticket office starting at 8 a.m. will get a pair of free tickets. Rick Adelman and David Kahn did the same thing for the Lynx during last year’s championship run, as did the Vikings, Twins and Wild.

Love says he’s proud to support the Lynx. He certainly can afford it now. Love is about to begin the first season of a four-year, $60 million contract extension he signed in January.
